Digital Photo Media Week 4: Lee Aik Soon

Photographer: Lee Aik Soon
Type of Photography: Street Photography
Aik Soon is a photographer based in Singapore and he does street photography. But he recently changed his style to more of architecture shots. These are only a few out of all of his street photography, and he captures the emotions and story of the people. I really hope that he goes back to doing street photography again. His photos look mostly desaturated but to me, there's also a bit of colour in the picture where he wants us to focus on. I don't personally know him, we only follow each other on Instagram but looking at the behind the scenes snapchat videos of his shots, it seems like he really took a lot of time and effort to wait and capture all his shots. Patience is definitely the key when it comes to photography.

Digital Photo Media Week 3: Jessica Kobeissi

Photographer: Jessica Kobeissi
Type of Photography: Fashion and Portrait
One of my favorite photographers of all time. I got hooked onto watching her YouTube videos on how she shoot through one of my friends back in my ite days. I love the way she plays with sunlight and shadows in her photos, she prefers shooting in natural light and in her videos, she shows her before and after edit pictures. Her photos have the vintagey feel to it, she experiments with different shots and every time I watch her videos and look at how her photographs come to live, it inspires me to pick up my camera and create amazing photographs like her. I've also put in a video of her doing smoke bomb photoshoot which I really want to try but I think it's illegal in Singapore. All her shoots in her youtube videos, they look like they're having fun. Behind every photo of hers, there's a model who is 100% comfortable with her. As a photographer, you must make your model feel comfortable so the model won't look awkward and you can capture the best pictures of him/her. That is one of the important things to me when I'm shooting with my model.

Digital Photo Media Week 2: Asyraf (@hashbrown26)

Photographer: Asyraf (@hashbrown26)
Type of Photography: Architecture/Nature
I found Asyraf on Instagram while looking through the explore page on Instagram and his photographs are amazing especially the shot of Gardens by The Bay, which immediately caught my eye and I started to looking through all his photos. Asyraf is a photographer from Singapore and he takes mostly urban and architecture pictures, which in the previous post I mentioned that I really love. It's not just about the way he shoots, it is also about the edits he does. I also love pictures that are highly contrasted/un-saturated but of course, not to the extent that it looks too over-edited.

Digital Photo Media Week 1: Nicholas Goodden

Photographer: Nicholas Goodden
Type of Photography: Urban Landscape
I instantly fell in love with Nicholas Goodden's work right away when I first saw it. Honestly, I prefer urban landscape photography to nature landscape. I love how his pictures are a little dull but there's still that pop of colour and life in every one of his photo. He also does cinemagraphs which I LOVE and I do watch tutorials on YouTube but I've never tried it. I also like how his pictures are taken with wide angle/fisheye lens. There is contrast in all his photos and I don't know why but his photos makes me feel like I'm actually there with him.
